About
Shark Key |
Just 7
miles outside of Key West, Shark Key is a peninsula that extends from
US Route 1 into Florida Bay, on the Gulf of Mexico side of the Florida
Keys. This elegant hideaway showcases the natural beauty and stunning
open water views of the Keys, while offering its residents the unique
luxury of private estate living in this area.
Shark Key was developed with 74 direct waterfront single family residential lots, ranging in size
from 1/4 acre to over 1/2 acre. This private island features a gated entrance
with keycode intercom entry. Several gazebos, an inviting clubhouse and two tennis courts
compliment an idyllic swimming lagoon with a beach of sugary Bahamian
sand.
Play
a game of tennis in the morning, have a picnic lunch among the
flowers, relax in an Adirondack chair by the water's edge, watch a
stunning sunset and socialize with other residents at the clubhouse
... or simply relish the peace and quiet of your beautiful island home
while gazing upon the sparkling blue waters of the gulf. It's up to
you!
The entire island is in full bloom, with bougainvillea, frangipani,
royal poinciana and other tropical flowers. Stately herons wander
freely among the lush vegetation. Look closely and you might even see
an iguana taking a nap in the treetops. Coral rock excavated from
nearby areas is used extensively in guardrail columns,
mailbox
pedestals and gateways. Heavy chains, salvaged from a decommissioned
Navy ship, line the winding streets.
Minutes away on the island of Key West, you can enjoy the best of
dining, shopping, nightlife and the arts. For everyday needs, major
retail stores such as Home Depot, Publix, Albertsons, Walgreens, Kmart,
Pier One Imports and many others are conveniently located within a few miles of Shark Key.
Jet and commuter service is available several times daily
out of Key West Airport.
